So you've got the new job and the overseas posting and you've bargained hard, for the type of salary you want and the social package, to go with it. Alternatively you have already been working as an expat for a number of years - possibly in various countries and situations and you might still not have gotten around to securing your hard-earned finances, even after all these years.

And as far as that is concerned there are usually a number of reasons:

You've been far too busy to really spend any time giving any thought to it, whatsoever.

Perhaps you would like to but do not really know too much about going offshore - not sure how to go about and perhaps even think that offshore is dirty word all together.

You are risk adverse and have a little bit of trepidation and even skepticism. I.e. is it right for me and what type of portfolio do I need to ensure maximum return on investment? Can I access my money at any time - should I wish? Can I make changes to my portfolio on an as and need to basis? Can I track my money and investments on-line?

All of these are good reasons and questions, which are worth exploring, with a consultant, until you are completely satisfied that you are making the right choice
